ForumsThe U.S. Center facilitates the public discussion of citizen diplomacy via forums and special events that draw private citizens interested in diplomacy, business people who travel abroad, politicians and the media. Recent forums have taken advantage of the first-in-the-nation caucus status of Iowa, the state in which the U.S. Center is headquartered. Forums have been offered to candidates during which they can present their views on foreign relations policy and take questions from attendees. Because the Iowa holds the national spotlight on candidates in the early rounds, these forums are covered by major national and international news organizations, helping to carry the message of the importance of citizen diplomacy throughout the U.S. and to other nations. Below you will find links to information on each of the Presidential Candidate Forums by the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy in cooperation with the Greater Des Moines on Foreign Relations.
