Be a Citizen Diplomat

Citizen Diplomacy is the concept that the individual has the right, even the responsibility, to help shape U.S. foreign relations 'one handshake at a time.' Citizen diplomats can be students, teachers, athletes, artists, business people, humanitarians, adventurers or tourists. They are motivated by a responsibility to engage with the rest of the world in a meaningful, mutually beneficial dialogue. Learn more about citizen diplomacy.

U.S. Summit & Initiative for Global Citizen Diplomacy

We will utilize the power of technology to connect as many interested citizens, groups and organizations as possible to the events of the Summit. These efforts will include Webcasting of selected sessions via the USCCD Website, posting of video and photos during the Summit to our Web site, live media broadcasts, posting of regular updates with photos, video and commentary to blog and social media venues via a crew of staff and youth ambassadors to the Summit, submission of questions via technology for the task forces and roundtable discussions.

All recorded events of the Summit will be edited and produced in CD/DVD formats that interested parties such as educational institutions and other entities may use it to highlight the work of citizen diplomats and organizations around the world.

You can follow all the events happening leading up to and during the Summit on our Summit page.
