Hosting

4-H International Exchange Program
It is a student exchange program that emphasizes agriculture and development in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the South Pacific.  This organization provides exchange and hosting opportunities for high school students and families.  The students must live and work with the host family.

Academic Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (AFICE)
AFICE is a non-profit education foundation that gives US families the opportunity to host high school students from around the globe for an academic year or semester.

American Councils for International Education (ACTR/ACCELS)

ACTR/ACCELS is a nonprofit organization that offers homestay exchange programs and language training in the U.S. and across Eurasia, South Asia, Southeast Europe and the Balkans to American and foreign high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty. American Councils also provides hosting opportunities for American families. All types of families in which English is the primary language used at home are welcomed including those with teenagers or younger children at home, retirees, "empty nesters," and single parent familes. Host families are paired with a local coordinator who assistants in questions of adjustment, school enrollment, etc.

ASA International
ASA is a visitor exchange program that brings foreign high school students from 45 countries together with US host families for an academic year or semester.

Association of Teen Age Diplomats
The Association of Teen Age Diplomats is a non-profit organization that coordinates international exchanges in France, Germany, Peru, Israel, Italy, Mali, Poland, Russia, and Turkey for high school students and hosting for families.

The China Exchange Initiative
The China Exchange Initiative(CEI) focuses primarily on exchange and job shadowing project between Chinese and American school administrators. Each October, principals from China travel to the United States to attend lectures on American education, shadow partner principals or superintendents on the job, live with host families, visit classes, and participate in a variety
of school and community events. In the spring, their American counterparts travel to China to participate on the other side of the experience. CEI Currently has six projects working with educators and others in 17 states in the U.S. and with education bureaus for 13 provinces in China.

Cultural Academic Student Exchange (CASE)
This organization has programs that offer American families the opportunity to host international students from all over the globe.

Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET)
Based in Alexandria, Virginia, the CSIET is a national not-for-profit foundation whose mission is to identify reputable international youth exchange programs in order to provide meaningful and safe international exchange experiences.

Eastern States Student Exchange (ESSEX)
ESSEX is part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program. They offer student exchanges and hosting opportunities. There are also scholarships available for those who qualify.

Foundation for Academic Cultural Exchange (FACE)
FACE offers American families the opportunity to host international students from around the world for an academic year.

Foundation for Worldwide Int’l Student Exchange (WISE)
This organization offers international exchange opportunities for students, youth, and adults. They have hosting opportunities for US families ranging from short term, farm/ranchstays, and academic homestays. There also have study abroad options in multiple countries for US high school students.

Learning and Achievement Foundation, Inc. (LAAF)
This international student organization that gives US families the opportunity to host students from around the world for an academic year.

North West Student Exchange (NWSE)
NWSE is a non-profit international high school exchange organization. They offer multiple programs for high school students to participate in exchanges in France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, the UK, Mexico, and Spain. Their families also have the opportunity to host a student. There is also a partner school exchange program.

Puentes/Bridges Cultural Emersion Trip
Puentes/Bridges is a cultural exchange organization that focuses on sending farmers or anyone else who employs Mexican workers, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire or River Falls students majoring in agriculture or other related fields, and people in the law enforcement, medical, religion/church, and educational fields. The exchange is ten days long and focuses on immersing the individual in Mexican culture and customs. Visits to local farms, historical and archeological sites are part of tours and lectures given by experts in Mexican history and culture. Included in the trip is a three night homestay with a host family. During the homestay, you will attend intensive Spanish classes. You will also visit the families of the employees of the trip participants. The next trip is scheduled for November 28-December 7.

Quest International
Quest is a non-profit international exchange program that offers hosting and study abroad programs for high school students in Europe, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and China. American families interested in hosting an exchange student have the opportunity to host a student for an academic year or a few weeks in the summer.
