Established 40 years ago, the International Graduate University is a nonprofit institute of higher education. Nearly 40,000 students from around the world have participated in their programs. The University strives to educate students and ultimately societies into becoming able to intelligently respond to different challenges around the world. Students are able to obtain a Master of Science in Management, Master of Arts in Constitutional Democracy, and Master of Science in Human Services. The International Studies degree at Texas A&M University offers interdisciplinary curriculum aimed to capture the scope of social, political, cultural and economic “forces at play in an increasingly interdependent world.” International experiences are a cornerstone to the degree and connect course work that is linked by language, topic, and region. Information indicates graduates will have a host of skills, including language proficiency, analytical skills, cultural sensitivity and substantive knowledge.
Students’ programming begins with Introduction to International Studies and continues with four semesters of foreign language. Requirements lead to an approved international experience and culminate with a Senior Seminar centering on the student thesis. |

Programming includes intercultural experience, research and writing, and a focus on language skills. International Degree students complete 32 credits (beyond requirements for primary degree), including a senior thesis exploring the global dimension of the field of study. The University states that students graduating from this program develop an array of skills including cultural and intellectual curiosity, tolerance for ambiguity, adaptability, independence, assertiveness, and empathy. |
